Open lecture – Modern Sources of X-ray Radiation and their Application

14:15 - 15:10, 21 September 2018, (Friday)
The main building

Sergey Lazarev, a researcher of Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron research center (Hamburg, Germany), will carry out the lecture devoted to Modern Sources of X-ray Radiation and their Application.

He will tell about the development of sources of X-ray radiation from X-ray tube to modern sources of synchrotron (X-ray) radiation, and unique X-ray lasers, using free electrons. Each step increased the intensity and quality of the photons, allowing to discover new methods for studying matter in various fields from medical imaging to detailed X-ray diffraction analysis of extremely small crystals.
