A festive concert will be organized by the members of the Assembly of Peoples of the Tomsk Region, representatives of national and cultural autonomies, compatriot societies, and associations of foreign students and creative collectives of the city. There will be an exhibition of folk art and a photo zone to take pictures in national costumes.
This year the festival will unite students from Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Mongolia, Columbia, Uzbekistan, China, Ukraine, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Georgia, African countries and Russian national republics: Buryatia, Yakutia, Khakassia, Tatarstan and Chechnya. Russian Germans will also present their culture.
‘This year students from Tomsk Polytechnic University and other Tomsk universities will participate in the opening ceremony of the Days of National Cultures. Our project is aimed at socializing international students, acquaintance with culture and traditions of different peoples, intercultural dialog and development of tolerance in the student community. International events are dedicated to students who came from far away to help them feel like home.
Having 3-year experience we may say that the Days of National Cultures unite children, students and adults of various nationalities into a big friendly family. Each one is welcome to our events,’
says Project Manager Maria Vorotilo, TPU Social Work Center.
The agenda of the Days of National Cultures also includes the song contest Golden Voice of the World’s Peoples, the festival Dances of the World’s Peoples and the photo contest Peoples Friendship – Power of Tomsk.
