Commenting TPU output in the rating Rector Petr Chubik said:
‘For five years TPU rose from the band 600+ to 373rd place showing every year a progressive movement in the world university table.
There were times when we promoted by 80-90 position at once; however, the closer the top the harder the climb.
We are advancing under the conditions of intense competition among leaders of the world’s scientific and educational market. Nobody simply leaves its position here.’
Currently TPU movement in the ratings is based on the high demand on research outputs of the University scientists.
‘Over the last years TPU has largely restructured its activities. The research outputs of TPU scientists are highly required by the international scientific community that is evidenced by the increase of TPU scientists’ citation.
We see that the University awareness is growing in the world, opportunities of cooperation with the largest Russian and foreign research and educational centers such as CERN, leading universities in Switzerland, France, Sweden, and China are extended. Our potential has not fully disclosed yet.
We will work on strengthening our positions and advance further,’ emphasized the rector.
It is noteworthy that the University shows advancing in QS subject tables too. In the previously published subject rankings TPU takes place in the band 201-250 in Chemical engineering, in the band 250-300 in Mechanical engineering, in the band 301-350 in Electrical engineering and Physics, and in the band 451-500 in Chemistry.
