Academic community and employers confirm: TPU produces best engineers

The RAEX agency (Expert RA) has compiled the reputation ranking of Russian universities divided them in vast fields. The Izvestiya newspaper published a renewed table. Tomsk Polytechnic University ranks fifth in the enlarged field Engineering, Natural Sciences and Exact Sciences and takes the second place in Engineering and Technology. Ahead there are only metropolitan universities.

The new ranking is based on a survey of over 60,000 respondents: students, graduates, representatives of academia and scientific community, and employers. The respondents evaluated the quality of education, graduates’ demand among employers, and the volume of R&D.

Lomonosov Moscow State University has topped the enlarged field Engineering, Natural Sciences and Exact Sciences. The top five is completed by Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MIPT, St. Petersburg State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University. They have been keeping their positions since 2016.

According to the respondents, Bauman MSTU, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University make up top three in Engineering and Technology. These universities feature a high quality of fundamental education and a good level of training in applied areas.
