Tomsk Polytechnic University was selected as one of the eight platforms, which will host the festival of Huawei, one of the world’s leading telecoms companies. TPU will hold it on 25 September 2018. The festival will allow the Tomsk students to meet the company experts, find out more about the company and its internships, and move to the third stage of a large-scale All-Russia competition in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) - Honor Cup.

Now Huawei is a world ICT leader. Telecommunication network devices, IT products, and smart (AI) devices are used by the one-third of the world’s population. Huawei invests over 10% of its annual sales revenue in R & D, over 45% employees are engaged in scientific research.
This autumn Huawei will hold eight regional festivals at the leading universities of Russia.
TPU will be the most eastern point on the Huawei festival map. At the festival, the students will find out more about the company, its educational and career opportunities for students and young professionals. They will be able to discuss internships and employment options with the HR-department of Huawei. Additionally, the experts of the company training center will conduct workshops.
Participants will be also able to take the HCNA test for free and receive international certificates of the company. They confirm knowledge of the fundamentals of network technologies and basic skills of supporting enterprise networks. Those who pass the test will be able to get to the third stage of the Honor Cup. It is the fourth all-Russia competition in the area of information and communication technologies for students and young specialists.
The competition participants will test their knowledge and the best ones will be awarded. This year, the competition will include the Internet of Things, mobile communications, cloud solutions, IP-networks, and programming languages.
Organizers note that Huawei will award winners of Honor Cup its newest models of gadgets.
Recently, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Huawei have signed an agreement on assigning the status of the Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy to the University. This status allows students and faculty to gain access to unique educational technologies and materials prepared by highly qualified experts in the field of ICT. The partners develop research cooperation in the field of data transmission via the 5G networks and the Internet of Things for public health care.
