The scholarship competition for TPU students is announced by the Research School of Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Studies. Students of bachelor, specialist, master and PhD programs working under the supervision of the School researchers are eligible for scholarships. Application deadline is 19 October 2018.
The Research School of Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Studies was established at Tomsk Polytechnic University last year. It united chemists, physicists, and materials scientists who are engaged in biomedical research. Here future researchers are educated on the basis of master and PhD programs. Early-career scientists participate in major projects and become part of the big interdisciplinary community of the School.
Deputy Director for Development of Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Studies Marina Trusova says:
‘We allocate additional scholarships to support talented students. Although we provide master and PhD programs, bachelor and specialist students are also eligible for scholarships. These are the students who study at engineering schools but they are interested in biomedical subjects, they would like to pursue research programs and are already working under the leadership of the scientists of our School.’
The amount and the number of scholarships will be determined after processing the submitted applications. The scholarships will be paid from the funds of the TPU Competitiveness Enhancement Program.
Now the Research School of Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Studies unites 11 scientific groups that can be joined by undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. All groups are headed by researchers reputable in the scientific community.
‘All our groups actively publish their scientific papers, have close and productive research contacts in the international and Russian research centers. We are proving by our example that being a scientist in the modern world is interesting, prestigious and enables self-realization,’ says Marina Trusova.
