At the event, Yuli Burkin will present his book The Beatles. Different Sky and perform famous songs of the band and of his own.

The presentation will take place on 21 November at 17:00, 208 room, at TPU Library (53a Belinskogo St.). Entrance is free.

‘The book The Beatles. Different Sky is of interest not only as a literary experience but also as an experiment in musicology. The main characters of the book are members of the cult band The Beatles,’ the organizers say.

The book The Beatles. Different Sky is coauthored by Yuli Burkin and Aleksei Bolshanin. This is a novel written in the alternative history genre. In the story John Lennon survived, in 1980 The Beatles reunited and came to the USSR.

Musicians managed to play in the Kremlin, to perform in a remote village, and by the incredible coincidence of circumstances went to Tomsk under fire of the Soviet air defense. As a result, the band became a catalyst of processes which led to the ‘reconstruction (perestroika – in Russian) with a human face’.
