Tomsk Polytechnic University has traditionally joined the international action Museum Night 2019. An interesting educational and entertaining program for TPU fellows and guests of the University is scheduled for 17 May.
Every year, on 18 May museum employees around the world celebrate their professional holiday International Museum Day. Museum Night is an event timed to this day when everyone can see museum expositions.
The main goal of the action is to show resources, opportunities, the potential of modern museums, and to attract young people to museums. For the first time, Museum Night was held in Berlin in 1997.
This year TPU History Museum will open its doors on 17 May from 15:00 to 21:00.
Tours will be held every hour, starting at 17:00.
Vadim Lobanov, an exhibition specialist at TPU Museum Complex, says:
‘TPU History Museum has participated in the international action for a number of years. This time we prepared a telebridge with the Memorial Museum of Academician Kanysh Satpayev for TPU fellows and all city residents. Our visitors will be able not only to learn interesting facts about student years of the famous alumnus of Tomsk Technological Institute, graduated in 1926 but also to take pictures in a national Kazakh costume in the interiors of the Museum. The guests are also welcome to participate in tours, quizzes, and contests on TPU history.’
Entrance is free. Registration is not required.
Everyone is invited to get closer to the rich history of the University. The Museum is located at 30 Lenin Ave., the TPU Main building, 315, 320, 321 rooms.
