TPU students become prize-winners of Future Petroleum Engineers Forum in China

Two students from Tomsk Polytechnic University ranked second in the Paper Contest of the 9th Future Petroleum Engineers Forum that took place on 18-19 May 2019 at the China University of Petroleum Beijing. They also won third place in an international oil and gas quiz game. 

Tomsk Polytechnic University was represented by the students Daniil Karavsky and Vladislav Polyanskii from School of Earth Sciences & Engineering. In the Paper Contest, they presented the paper Optimization of Field Development Using an Integrated Model.

Vladislav Polyanskii says: 

‘In the paper, we fully revealed how an integrated model can identify certain problems, for example, the failure to achieve the project indicators of production due to the difference of pressure in wells.’

TPU students also participated in the international PetroCup as part of the team of the Russian universities including Tomsk Polytechnic University, Gubkin University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and Bashkir State University.
