Chinese Embassy in Russia Sends TPU Students Health Kits

Students of Tomsk Polytechnic University received packages of health from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Russia. Each health kit for Chinese students training abroad contains medical masks, traditional Chinese medicine, antibacterial wipes, reference materials for the prevention of ischemic pneumonia, and a letter from the embassy.

“The elements of the long-term cooperation of TPU with universities and enterprises are joint research and academic programs, internships, academic exchange, conferences, and workshops. Tomsk Polytechnic University has been teaching students from China since 1993. Throughout this time, more than 700 Chinese students have trained and graduated from TPU,” Irina Kokareva, head of the TPU International Students Office, says.

Recently 460 health packages have been sent to TPU for students of the Tomsk universities that participate in the Big Tomsk University project. Polytechnics have already handed health kit to Tomsk State University and Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

“173 of these kits are for Chinese students at TPU. Nowadays, 360 undergraduates, graduates as well as PhDs from China are studying at TPU. 246 of them are currently in Tomsk.

For them and other students, TPU provides e-learning process,” the TPU International Students Office notes.

In addition, Viktor Dyomin, TPU Acting Rector, received a letter of appreciation from the China University of Petroleum (Beijing) for preserving the quality of life of students who arrived at TPU within the academic exchange program during this difficult situation with the coronavirus infection.

Tomsk Polytechnic University and China University of Petroleum jointly train excellent specialists in petroleum engineering and geology.
