Dutch Researchers Nearly Join Consortium for Hydrogen Technologies

Gilles Beschoor Plug, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Russian Federation at the meeting with Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of Tomsk Oblast, announced a desire of Dutch researchers to be involved in the work of the Consortium for Hydrogen Technologies. The Press Office of the Administration of Tomsk Oblast reported about it.

The Governor and Ambassador held a meeting within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The parts discussed perspectives for the development of cooperation between Tomsk Oblast and the Netherlands.

“Tomsk Oblast is a very attractive region from the innovation point of view. Our Advisor for Innovation, Technology and Research would like to take part in the autumn International Conference “S&T Bridge Continents” held by TPU. Our researchers also want to be involved in the work of the Consortium for Hydrogen Technologies arranged by TPU with the support of the regional authorities,” the Press Office of the Administration of Tomsk Oblast cites the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Russian Federation.

In November 2020, the Consortium for Hydrogen Technologies was created in Russia due to the initiative of the universities jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the bodies of executive power and industrial companies. Its co-founders and first members became the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Sakhalin State University, Samara State Technical University.

In total, the Consortium for Hydrogen Technologies has already united over 20 universities and research institutes, including the Tomsk Consortium of Universities and Scientific Organizations and 16 industrial partners. Among them, there are SIBUR, Severstal, THM, Rosatom, Gazprom Neft, TMK and other companies.
