TPU researchers proposed new way to "turn on" molecules with antitumor activity directly in cancer cells
Researchers at Tomsk Polytechnic University, as part of an international team, have developed and tested a new type of potential antitumor prodrugs — molecules that attack tumor cells not immediately, but only after activation inside the cell. Once "triggered", such molecules will be able to trigger a chain of chemical transformations, release active substances and lead to the programmed death of tumor cells.
