Tomsk researchers’ method made it possible to synthesize fluorescent ceramics for energy-efficient lighting in a minute and in one stage

Researchers from Tomsk Polytechnic University, together with their colleagues from TSUAB and the Tomsk Research Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, applied the arc plasma method to synthesize multicomponent oxide ceramics with long-term luminescence. It allowed to obtain multiphase ceramics based on aluminum, magnesium and strontium oxides doped with europium oxide in one stage and for one minute. The ceramics demonstrated stable luminescence. The results obtained open up new prospects for the synthesis of multiphase materials for various applications, for example, for energy-efficient lighting and alarm systems.
