TPU researchers "taught" seismic sensors to weigh moving cars
TPU researchers, together with their Russian colleagues, have developed a system that allows to weigh vehicles moving at a speed up to 70 km/h using seismic sensors. The system can distinguish vibrations from the measured object and differentiate them from interference caused by working road equipment or other vehicles moving in the neighboring or oncoming lane. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been proven by the field trial results.
