TPU Scientists: Silver Decoration Improves Properties of 2D-Materials

Scientists from the Research School of Chemistry and Applied Biomedical Sciences of Tomsk Polytechnic University have developed an effective method of decorating the edges of tungsten diselenide nanoribbons, a promising 2D material. To achieve this, they deposited silver nitrate particles on the surface of the nanoribbons and treated them with a laser. This method helps to control the properties of 2D-materials and create catalysts based on them. In the future it can find application in optoelectronics.
