Tomsk Polytechnic University has entered a list of priority universities for Azerbaijani citizens to study. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev approved a program of study at foreign universities. In total, 16 Russian universities entered the list.
The government program for Azerbaijani students to obtain higher education degrees at overseas universities is designed for 2022-2026. Within the five years of the state program implementation, 2,000 people will undergo academic training. No less than 80% of degree quotas will be granted for study a master’s degree. The program includes Engineering, IT, Power Engineering, Basic and Applied Sciences, and Aerospace Engineering as priority professional majors to study.
TPU became one of the top Russian universities, which Azerbaijan recommended for its students. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University), the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University), Kazan Federal University, the Lomonosov Moscow State University and others were also listed. The program will cover tuition fees for all study period, travel expenses and insurance, as well as scholarship for bachelor’s and master’s degree students, who will choose top priority universities from the list.
