Conference at TPU Brings Together International Students and Postgraduates from 40 Countries

The Third International Research-to-Practice Conference "Scientific Initiative of International Students and Postgraduates" will be held at Tomsk Polytechnic University on April 25-27. Traditionally, the conference is attended by international pre-university students, undergraduates, graduates, postgraduates and young scientists from Tomsk universities and throughout Russia, as well as from foreign universities.

Applications and papers for publication will be accepted until March 26. Further information is available on the official website of the conference.

"The conference "Scientific Initiative of International Students and Postgraduates" has been held at Tomsk Polytechnic University since 2008. It unites science initiatives of international students from Tomsk Polytechnic University and other universities throughout Russia. International students from around 40 countries take part in the conference, including Indonesia, Brazil, China, Vietnam, India, Mongolia, Ghana, Iran, Ecuador and others. They present their research findings and discuss them in Russian, which is not their mother tongue. This year, for the first time, not only faculty experts, but also international students themselves will assess the reports presented by the participants,"

— says Nina Shakhova, academic secretary of the conference, associate professor at the Division for Russian Language of the School of Core Engineering Education.
International pre-university students, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students as well as young scientists from near and far abroad countries pursuing their studies at Russian universities are welcome to take part in the conference.

The conference program features ten sections, such as: Engineering Sciences; Engineering Sciences: State-of-the-Art Equipment and Technology (session for aspiring graduate and postgraduate students); At the Intersection of Creativity and Project-Based Learning in Engineering Education; Social Sciences and Humanities; History of Arts and Culture; Materials Science; Humanities: Linguistics and Literary Studies; Natural Sciences; Science as a Vocation and Career (session in English); First Step in Science (for pre-university students).

The conference winners will be admitted to master's programs at Tomsk Polytechnic University without exams.
