Film Featuring International Researchers from TPU Appeared on Kinopoisk

The documentary titled Russians by Choice had its premiere on February 14. It sheds light on the life of foreign nationals, doing business and developing culture and science in Russia, and features international researchers from Tomsk Polytechnic University. The film is available on Kinopoisk online cinema.

The film production took place in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and the Altai Mountains, and was running from September to January 2022. Eleven internationals from Romania, America, Great Britain, Nigeria, Italy, China, Indonesia, and other countries starred in the film.

Tomsk Polytechnic University was represented in the film by Alfa Edison Ilela, associate professor at the Division for Materials Science, and Antonio Di Martino, associate professor at the Research School of Chemistry and Applied Biomedical Sciences.

Antonio Di Martino, chemist, first flew from Italy to Tomsk in 2015, and in March 2020 he moved here to live and work. In June, the project Russians by Choice won the Smart Movie screenwriting contest held by the All-Russian Znanie Society. The film production was supported by the Internet Development Institute.

The film premiered on Kinopoisk online cinema and official accounts of the project on Vkontakte and Youtube.
