The II International Conference Scientific Initiative of International Students and Postgraduates is starting at Tomsk Polytechnic University. Within the 30th anniversary of the TPU Division for Russian Language and the 20th anniversary of the TPU Pre-University Department, the Conference is being held in the face-to-face and remote modes.
The festive opening of the event is being taken place in the TPU Building No. 19 (4A Usova Street) on 26 April, 14:00.
“The unique feature and popularity of the Conference are related to the fact that its participants are only international bachelor’s and master’s degree students and postgraduates mostly from far abroad countries. They can report, compete and discuss various research topics. Winners of the Conference can be enrolled in a TPU master’s degree course without exams,” Conference organizers say.
International students from 57 universities are representing 286 reports. In total, 80% of the participants are postgraduates and master’s degree students.
Traditionally, most of them come from China, Vietnam, Egypt, Italy, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Korea, Ecuador, Italy and Hungary. The Conference is gathering together the participants from 45 countries.
A part of them is representing their reports face-to-face, meanwhile, the other part is joining the Conference online.
“There are a lot of representatives of Moscow and St Petersburg universities, for instance, Lomonosov Moscow State University, St Petersburg University and RUDN University. Some of them even were able to fly to Tomsk. The reports of students’ from key Chinese universities such as Renmin University of China, Jilin University, Shenyang Ligong University, Henan University of Science and Technology, China University of Petroleum implementing jointly with TPU programs are highlighted in a separate report section,” the organizers add.
The Conference is being held in several sections related to studying current problems of engineering, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, including medical and life sciences and others. There is also being held a competition of video reports for the participants. Besides, on April 28, all interested people can join a round table arranged by the TPU Pre-University Department and listen to the reports on such topics as My Study Experience at Pre-University Faculty of Russian University, Extracurricular Activities at Pre-University Faculty: My Impressions, Pre-University Faculty is Window of Opportunities in Russia: Real Acquaintance with Country, Culture and History.
The Conference events are being completed with a concert dedicated to the anniversary of two TPU divisions. The сlosing сeremony of the Conference is being held in the TPU International Culture Center (13V Usova Street) on Friday, April 29, 14:00.
