More than 200 participants attended the Rosatom Career Day for foreign graduates at TPU

The Rosatom Career Day for foreign students of core universities was held at Tomsk Polytechnic University. There were more than 200 participants.

For the third time Tomsk Polytechnic University became the main venue of the event, which brought together representatives of Rosatom enterprises, operators, regulatory bodies, national nuclear commissions, nuclear infrastructure enterprises, as well as foreign students and graduates of Rosatom partner universities from Egypt, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Vietnam, People's Republic of Bangladesh, Rwanda, and Sri Lanka.

"We are proud of our graduates, including employees of national nuclear commissions, university professors and researchers, employees of national medical centers and nuclear industry companies. Many of them, already successful in their own countries, return to TPU to continue their studies and improve their professional level. I am sure that the Career Day will help you make direct contacts and take the first steps towards a successful career in the nuclear industry," said Leonid Sukhikh, Acting Rector of TPU.

For two days, students and graduates attended open lectures on nuclear safety issues, as well as meetings with employers in an online format. They were able to ask questions about employment opportunities and participation in the national nuclear projects in their home countries, and learned about the personnel requirements in nuclear energy facilities and nuclear infrastructure organizations.

"The growth of cooperation with partner countries in the field of training highly qualified personnel is a priority task of Rosatom State Corporation. Today, more than 2,000 students from 65 countries are studying in Russia in nuclear and related fields. We must think about where our graduates will work after graduation. That is why we hold Career Days twice a year to inform our international students about the development of nuclear projects in the countries and nuclear infrastructure organizations, as well as to introduce them to potential employers. This way, in the future they can find professional employment in nuclear enterprises in their home countries," emphasized Vera Upirova, Senior Manager of the Project Office for Education Development and International Cooperation of Rosatom State Corporation.
