Russian Science Foundation Supports Research of TPU Scientists

The Russian Science Foundation has summed up the results of the 2022 Competition for Projects of Separate Research Teams and the Competition for Extending Deadlines for Project Implementation of Separate Research Teams supported in 2019.

The Russian Science Foundation has summed up the results of the 2022 Competition for Projects of Separate Research Teams and the Competition for Extending Deadlines for Project Implementation of Separate Research Teams supported in 2019. Within these Competitions, according to the results of the expert examination, the Foundation Expert Council selected 1,1171 projects. They included four projects conducted by scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University.

The list of the projects supported by the results of the 2022 Competition for Receiving Grants on Focal Areas of the Russian Science Foundation entitled Conducting Fundamental and Exploratory Research by Separate Research Teams included three research works of the TPU scientists:

Development of Scientific Foundations for Formation of Deeply Doped Layers Using Method of Synergy of Ion Implantation and Energy Deposition on Materials with High-Intensity Submillisecond Ion Beams under the supervision of Alexander Ryabchikov, Head of the TPU Research Laboratory of High-Intensity Ion Implantation.

“The project intends to develop scientific foundations for a new method of modification of the structure and properties of deeply doped layers of a wide range of materials applied in various areas of science, engineering and technology,” the abstract says.

Development of Methodical, Software and Hardware Foundations of Automated Thermal Testing of Composite Materials and Products of Aircraft and Aerospace Engineering under the supervision of Vladimir Vavilov, Head of the TPU Laboratory for Thermal Testing.

“The project result will be the development of advanced approaches to the implementation of complex automated active thermal control of composite materials and products of aircraft and aerospace engineering. The proposed approaches and their implementation are designed for application at enterprises of advanced areas of the industry,” the research description notes.

Development of Scientific Foundations of 3D Printing for Producing Ceramic Products Using Electron-Beam Heating Method under the supervision of Elena Lysenko, Head of the TPU Research Laboratory for Electronics, Semiconductors and Dielectrics.

“The current project aims at high-quality high-density ferrite and zirconium ceramics with the combined use of methods of mechanical activation of powders, synthesis and sintering when heated by an electron beam and development of scientific and technical foundations of effective 3D printing of obtaining oxide ceramics by the electron-beam heating method possessing no alternatives in the modern world,” the Foundation website specifies.

Moreover, a research work entitled Institutions for Fulfillment of Resource Potential of Senior Citizens in Economy under the supervision of Galina Barysheva, Head of the TPU International Research Laboratory for Technologies of Senior Citizens Well-Being Improvement, was listed as a project that received financial support according to the results of the Competition for Extending Deadlines for Project Implementation.

It is an interdisciplinary research on the possibility to spread the best practices for the transformation of institutions for the fulfilment of resource potential of senior citizens to keep and accumulate health capital in Russian regions.

In total, over 21,5 billion rubles will be transferred for sponsorship of the winners in 2022-2024.
