Bloggers and journalists from the Republic of Tatarstan have come to Tomsk after the resumption of direct flights from Tomsk to Kazan. Tomsk Polytechnic University became one of the most attractive locations to get familiar with Tomsk.

On Sunday, 3 July, about 100 passengers, among them there are nine Tatarstan journalists and bloggers, arrived in Tomsk by the first flight of the Norwind airlines.

As part of the trip, they are telling their followers about Tomsk’s hospitality and tourist opportunities. The bloggers have already got acquainted with the history and architecture of the city during the sightseeing tour, visited museums and the Voskresenskaya Church, Lagerny Garden, Old Tatar Quarter (Tatar Sloboda), as well as the Tochka Kipeniya co-working space, the Semiluzhensky Cossack Fort, the theatre of dolls 2 + KU and other iconic objects of Tomsk.

Today, the delegation visited the historic TPU main building and learned about how the university was founded 126 years ago and what architectural features and details have been kept to date. The bloggers were also told about the European Quarter, a place in downtown Tomsk, where the building complex of the former Tomsk Technological Institute (current TPU) is located and the Engineer’s Yard, a new urban space.

“This is my first time in Tomsk. I really liked the wooden architecture here, we don't have enough of that in our city. It is very impressive! It's authentic, interesting and looks good in shots. I want to walk around longer, not as part of a walking tour, go into Tomsk courtyards. Besides, I liked very much the acquaintance with aboriginal people of the North, diving into their culture and way of living.

The first impression from TPU is that the architecture here is marvellous! I immediately wanted to take pictures and record videos. The atmosphere here is special,”

shared one of the participants of the blogger tour Alexander Safronov.
