TPU physicists undertake first high resolution studies of silane and methane infrared spectra

Scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University, supported by the federal program Priority-2030 of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of the national project Science and Universities and under the state assignment Science, have conducted a comprehensive study of the spectra of gaseous silane and deuterated methane molecules in certain infrared spectral regions with considerably more accurate characteristics than previously known. The data obtained may be of interest in planetology for studying the atmospheres of giant gas planets and their satellites, such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Titan.
