TPU scientists synthesize pure titanium diboride
Researchers from TPU's Youth Laboratory of Advanced Materials in the Energy Industry have synthesized a superhard material based on titanium diboride by the electric arc method. It is a high-purity material, that can be synthesized up to several days faster than its counterparts due to the method used. The synthesized ultrapure titanium diboride can be used to manufacture electrolyzers for aluminum production, as well as neutron-absorbing parts of nuclear reactors.
