TPU Expert: The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for the practical foundations of quantum computer development
The winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2025 were John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis. The Committee selected them for their "macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization in an electric circuit". Together with Boris Merzlikin, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Physics at TPU, we are looking into how these studies have influenced the world of modern electronics.
