The Division for Russian Language of the TPU Core Engineering Education has announced a launch of the Russian Language. Elementary distance course on Stepik, a Russian platform for online studying. This course is a part of the Online Pre-University Training project at TPU.
The course on elementary Russian has been developed for international enrollees and students from countries across the former Soviet Union and beyond.
“The course allows learning Russian from scratch. It provides a detailed description of Russian phonetics for beginners: pronunciation of sounds, reading rules, stress.
We tried to use the maximum of relevant technologies: infographic, animation and interactive training simulators,” Evgenia Sherina, Head of the TPU Division for Russian Language, notes.
The online course consists of a series of video lectures, practical tasks, training simulators and additional materials such as lecture notes, dictionaries. It will allow an attendee to easily master the Russian phonetics, lexis and grammar on the elementary level (A1).
“Modern technologies and training materials developed for this massive open online course by our Division professors experting in the Russian philology give an opportunity for an international student to start becoming familiar with the Russian language independently at the stage when a future student is not yet able to come to Russia. The course will definitely become an effective tool for attracting international students to study at our university,” Evgenia Sherina adds.
The course has been developed by Associate Professor Evgenia Poturaeva, Senior Lecturer Lyudmila Ponomareva of the Division for Russian Language of the TPU School of Core Engineering Education and experts of the Office of Digital Education Resources of the TPU Center for Digital Education.
The attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate from Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Stepik platform.
