Tomsk Polytechnic University has launched a new Master’s Degree program in Digital Design. Students of the first intake will begin classes in September 2022. The program offers 12 state-financed openings for students.
“There are no alternatives to the master’s degree program, which Tomsk Polytechnic University has launched this year. Digital design is studied as a component of industrial design in various educational courses. The TPU program is the first of its kind, which will train professionals who will solve the problems of the digital world on a large scale,” notes Aleksey Shklyar, associate professor of the Division of Automation and Robotics of the TPU School of Computer Science and Robotics.
The graduates of the program will become digital designers. These are future professionals who will develop the visual concept of digital products. They are in demand in a variety of fields: digital learning educational technologies, simulators, trainers, UX and UI design, game design, digital design in the field of interaction at the level of entertainment, development and education, digital tools related to the use of digital services by real users.
These are just a few fields where digital designers are required today. The master’s program of Tomsk Polytechnic University is designed thus to give a systematic idea of the problems and opportunities of the modern digital world. Among the major subjects, there is conceptual design of user digital systems, modern multimedia technologies, design and ergonomics of the digital sphere, technologies of analysis and presentation of information and modern computer technologies in digital design. Training future professionals for engineering in the field of information technology will allow graduates to work in various fields of production, science, social life, politics, art and business.
