TPU researchers launched the first Russian "cold" geothermal plant in the north of the Tomsk region

A geothermal power plant with a capacity of 25 kilowatt, developed by TPU researchers, was put into trial operation in the village of Bely Yar in the Verkhneketsky district in the north of the Tomsk region. The station is eco-friendly and operates with water at a record low temperature for geothermal power generation - from 60 degrees Celsius. This is the first Russian station of this "cold" type. It is suitable for autonomous electricity and heat supply in remote areas with a cold climate. The trial operation mode will last for at least six months. The station will be checked for uninterrupted, safe and autonomous operation. The project has been implemented with the support of Priority 2030 federal program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the national Youth and Children project.
