TPU Signed up Orders for Research and Development Worth Over 1.4 Billion Rubles

In 2014 industrial partners of the university set aside 1.4 billion rubles for TPU research and development. According to Petr Chubik, the rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University, since 2009 the number of orders from the real sector of the economy increased almost three times.   At the meeting with journalists the rector summarized the work of the University over the past seven years. He noted that over the years Tomsk Polytechnic University has changed fundamentally, TPU was awarded the status of National Research University, and won the contest for the state aid for Russian leading universities.   "In 2009 TPU was granted the status of National Research University, by the way - the first among technical universities beyond the Urals. Since 2009 we have created a modern infrastructure, bought new equipment at the cost of almost 2.5 billion rubles."  - Said the rector.   He emphasized that Tomsk Polytechnic University actively cooperated with large domestic enterprises. TPU is a reference university for such companies as "Gazprom", "Rosatom", "ISS-Reshetnev", "Microgen", “System Operator of the United Power System”," RAO Energy Systems of the East ".   "Today, Our University is a contractor of five and co-contractor of two major projects of the industry of Russia.   Our scientists have already developed a great number of technologies of strategic importance to the national economy. It goes without saying, that among them we should mention a technology of domestic beryllium production, fault detectors for “Power of Siberia” gas pipeline, unique armor ceramics and advanced materials for space"  - Said Petr Chubik.    "We have created 48 small companies now considered as an innovation component of the whole Regional economy. Their annual revenue achieves 250 million rubles,
