TPU Welcomes Everyone to Family-Friendly Phygital Day on May 13

Phygital-Day, a family festival for residents of the Tomsk region and other regions of Siberia will be held on May 13 in Novosobornaya Square in Tomsk. The phygital format will combine physical and digital activities for all ages. There will be a wide choice of activities: a hybrid game Mission: Engineer, popular science talks, a showcase of schoolchildren's engineering designs, master classes, giveaways, and a musical finale.

The first Phygital Day is timed to celebrate the 127th anniversary of Tomsk Polytechnic University, the oldest engineering university east of the Urals. Among the festival organizers are Tomsk Polytechnic University, Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, VTB and Quantorium Technopark for Children. Representatives of such Russian companies as HeadHunter, VK, VSK Insurance House, Tinkoff, SIBUR, MTS, Siberian Chemical Combine, Fiztech-Energo, Studio T Digital Agency, Atomic Energy Information Center will take part in the festival.

The festival organizers aim to showcase modern technologies and engineering professions in the main city square. The program starts at 12.00 and closes at 23.00. On this day, you will find marquee pavilions set up in Novosobornaya Square in Tomsk, where everyone will be able to take part in digital and real world activities

Throughout the day, each visitor can join the Mission: Engineer game. Moving around the site, from one station to another, players will be given technology-related tasks. New players can join the game at any time to compete for the grand prize

In the educational pavilion, one can attend trainings on preparation for the Unified State Examination and career guidance testing. In the science popularization pavilion, participants of the Science Slam movement, science-pop speakers and young Tomsk scientists will give talks. Documentary films about technologies of the future and episodes of Tomsk TV series will be shown in the film pavilion. IT, VR/AR, transportation, space, biotechnology and industrial design projects will be presented at a showcase of schoolchildren's engineering designs. The finals of the Engineering Quiz will be held at the festival as well.

All through the day, university buses will be available from Novosobornaya Square for a bus tour of the laboratories of Tomsk Polytechnic University, where scientists will speak about their discoveries and show how they make them

A hybrid soccer and interactive chessboard tournament will take place on the sports site of the Phygital Day.

Quizzes, games, a virtual tour of the Tomsk Polytechnic University nuclear reactor and many other activities will also be offered to festival participants.

The main stage of the festival will be headlined by star popular science communicators, as well as creative performances and an evening music program.

Food court and photo zones will be working all day long.
