Totally, 1,320 full-time budget-funded places at the 34 master directions were open. This year the number of budget places has been increased again: last year there were 1,268 places.
Seventy two self-funded students were enrolled. In addition, 13 international students were enrolled under the quota of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
This year TPU opened 94 state-funded places at master programs delivered in English for entrants from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The master programs in English have two major benefits: an advanced level of targeted education and English proficiency.
The student community of TPU was replenished by people from all CIS countries and 30 countries from far abroad (China, France, Chili, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and others). Graduates from Moscow State University, National Research Nuclear University ‘MEPhI’, St. Petersburg Mining University, Baltic State Technical University ‘Voenmeh’, Kazan (Privolzhsky) State University, Siberian Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University, and all Tomsk universities etc. applied for the TPU master programs. Thus, the admission campaign covered all regions of Russia.
According to the Admissions Committee this year, the most popular master programs were oil & gas studies, physics, instrument-making, biotechnology, electric power and electrical engineering, automation of technological processes and production, management, and chemical technology.
